I don't have PlusNet phone package (yet), still on BT but with broadband from PlusNet..but putting this info up here FYI.
For the last few weeks I have had noise on the line, been getting worse and worse, affecting calls and ADSL. Each time I checked using the BT LIne Test it showed no issues with the line and that any fault would be internal to the house, i.e. our problem. After trying everything I could I decided to get a BT/Openreach engineer in despite of the threats of having to pay £129 if fault is with ours. Engineer came, checked line, saw it was the line coming into the house that was the issue and needed to install a new one from pole to house. He said that BT Line Test should never have passed and that the problem is with BT so I won't be charged.
So, in short, if you have noise or other problems with your line, don't fully trust the BT Line Test results. Pretty annoyed that I waited a couple of weeks before scheduling an engineer visit.
