Anyone who has gone from BT to Plusnet what is your opinion

Am thinking of moving away from BT as line rental is not in-line with everyone else....
Also want to pay monthly with BT seems to be more than quarterly.
So how was the transition and service you are getting from plusnet?

Re: Anyone who has gone from BT to Plusnet what is your opinion

It's a good while since I transferred my telephone line from BT to PN but as far as I recall it went as smooth as a baby's...
The only thing I'm not quite so happy about is having to pay for caller ID.

Ditto. Mind you, you don't get free forwarding to a mobile if your line is out, or a £1 a day towards your calls (if they still do that bit).

@ ZedinGrove,
I'm not sure if you're saying you prefer to pay monthly or its cheaper to not pay monthly but have you seen this offer? http://www.plus.net/addons/line-rental-saver/

He's saying he wants to pay monthly.
(PS. If you look at some of his other posts, there's a clue as to why.)

You know what I find this inappropriate! What is the post about? Look at my package. Have you never heard of the saying...
"If you are not sure, ask!
Then you would of find that BT charges more for 1 month billing as opposed to 1/4 billing.

Ive just moved from bt to Pn for my broadband and im currenlty waiting for my home phone to be switched too.  Id recomend it, its cheaper and i think support here is better and i also find the member centre ( account panel ) is better to manage, its more detailed than bt`s and it works. Its like anything really, you wont know until you try Wink

Re: Anyone who has gone from BT to Plusnet what is your opinion

I switched a couple of months ago from BT -> PlusNet.
The ordering was easy....the switchover was easy....the communications were great....the support was faultless....the phone service is as good....the cost is lower.
'nuff said.

Re: Anyone who has gone from BT to Plusnet what is your opinion

I was just preparing to move from BT after being a subscriber for almost 50 years as they didn't automatically renew my annual pre payment of line rental through the d/d account, or even notify me it was due . The only thing holding me back was the £75 per year off the bill with my BT visa cashback credit card and that I have rectified by getting a capitolone cash back card today
Everything under one roof would be better I thought as a PN subscriber but then when trying to get everything done I find that to move my website domain from madasafish which I have had for 13 years to just-the-name is £25 even though they are all the same firm. Unbelievable! and not even sure how long it would take and if there would be any downtime.
Looks like I am going to have to back down and pay a year in advance with BT and pay the £25 to madasafish once I have found a hosting company that looks reliable.

I moved my phone from BT to Plusnet last week.  Didn't feel any pain - and, interestingly,  I haven't had one "unknown" call since.
Still waiting to sort out the last BT bill.

Re: Anyone who has gone from BT to Plusnet what is your opinion

So did you change your number or keep your BT one?
Cos my only concern is the extra cost with PN withheld number add on

Re: Anyone who has gone from BT to Plusnet what is your opinion

Standard system is for you to keep the number - I think there is a charge for changing it except in special circumstances
Prefixing your calls with 141 is free and withholds your number
Also number withheld permanently is free http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php?topic=93121.0
