1571 seems to be ON even though it's not ticked in my admin

The 1571 service seems to be ON even though it's not ticked in my admin and I don't want it. How can I turn it off as it's already OFF if you see what I mean?

Thanks but why was it ON when it wasn't ticked? How long do I need to wait before it takes effect?

Same here; have been with Plusnet for years, but have recently moved and 1571 has been activated even though I didn't ask for it.  Can it be removed please as it's messing with my answer machine?  I have elderly clients who are completely confused by it!

I've just found that I too have voicemail activated on my line even though I didn't ask for it and don't want it. Only found out because I accidentally knocked phone off and found I had interrupted dial tone. So presumably someone has left a message. I've been trying to find out if I will be charged if I dial 1571 to check any message left but can't find the answer.  Can anyone enlighten me on this?  In the meantime I have found how to switch it off although it might take up to 3 days.

I've just noticed that 1571 appears to have been activated on my phone. May I also have it removed?
