Re: 1471 call return

According to the Home Phone tariff here http://www.plus.net/home-broadband/tariffs/ 1471 is free BUT 1471 Call Return is 15p/call

Re: 1471 call return

Yes if you dial 1471 then press 3 to ring them back the ring back part is chargeable.

Re: 1471 call return

The presence of the feature itself is free (ie: you don't have to pay to add it), but the use of it is chargeable as outlined above.

Re: 1471 call return

If you use it a lot you can add Ring back for £2.50 per month when there is no charge for the ring backs (you'd need to use it more than 17 times a month on average).

Re: 1471 call return

True, jelv, but that's for using ringback if the called number is engaged.
The OP's query was about call return when using 1471.

Re: 1471 call return

I have raised a ticket and had a refund for one call to 1471. I have used 1471 but never used the call back feature.  I have had further charges for using a free service.  I have asked for further investigation.  If possible can it be proved I used the call back feature by pressing 3?  There are no corresponding calls on my itemised bill to indicate the call back was used although if the called number did not answer this would not show.

Re: 1471 call return

If the call you returned isn't answered (and doesn't go to voicemail, etc.) then there would be no matching call after the ring back event. Calls are confirmed to be made by your line unless something else indicates otherwise e.g. overlapping durations, fault was open, etc. etc.

Just to clarify -
Dial 1471 to check last number that called - free.
Press 3 to call that number - 15p surcharge on top of normal call rate.

Re: 1471 call return

I am not complaining about the charge , the point i am trying to make is , on my capture if you read it actually says "1471 call return = free"
i know there is a charge but just by reading you would say it is misleading , it may just need clarifing on the page  Wink

Re: 1471 call return

I appreciate the point that you are making, but I have stated twice in this thread that having the feature is free, but it costs to use it.

Or to be more accurate 1471 is free  1471 Call Return is chargeable.

Re: 1471 call return

Which is precisely the OP's point!
1471 call return is not 'a feature' IMO, it's part of the 1471 feature so should not be listed as a free feature, at the very least it should have a '*' with a note explaining it costs 15p to use the 'free feature'.
