1471 call charges

Hi,
Before plus net changed thier home phone prices they stated that using the 'call back' feature of 1471 was free (i.e. pressing 3 to call the person back). However, with there new pricing plan I cannot find any information about the charges for this feature.
Does anyone know whether this is still free because it is a feature we use a lot and I'm thinking of moving from BT.
thanks

Re: 1471 call charges

Information about Plusnet phone services is extremely tricky to find on the web site.
Eventually I found that pressing 3 costs 10p + connection and call charges that would otherwise have applied to the call.

Thanks for that.  I thought it was free also, but never use it anyway because was unsure whether I would be charged or not.  I certainly will not use it now,  I will write the number done and re dial it.

Yes, it was one of the "hidden" changes, for which they were heavily criticised at the time.

Re: 1471 call charges

Well I'm not very impressed. I've just been to my home phone 'Account Summary' tab at the Member centre https://portal.plus.net/plustalk/index.php?page=wlr_my_account . It's not a tab I use frequently, but I've just noticed that it still lists "Call Features" -'Free' > 1471 Call Return.

Re: 1471 call charges

I think it's listed as free because it doesn't incur a monthly subscription!
Edit:  Had another look at that page and I have to agree that it's a bit confusing!
1471 call return is chargeable (albeit on a per use basis) yet it's listed as "free" and voicemail, which is now  "free", is listed as an "extra"!

Re: 1471 call charges

Hi guys,
Call return will cost 10p plus the cost of the call. I've raised an internal problem (57290) to get that sorted on the Home Phone control panel.

Re: 1471 call charges

hi guys,
Thanks for the info on the 10p charge, which I think is the same as BT.
However, if you are qualify for the free 195 directory service, e.g. Visually Impaired, then BT will remove the charge for  the 1471 Call Return. Although it normally take several phone calls to their support people attempting to explain this.
Does Plus Net also offer this removal of the charge for subscribes to the 195 directory services.

Re: 1471 call charges

Hi,
I'm afraid this isn't something that we offer as we still contiue to be charged for such a service.
