0800 numbers in Itemised Bill

I made a 0800 call to nPower  in late September early October. I am trying to find a record of the call but the itemised bill does not list it. Should I expect it to?

Re: 0800 numbers in Itemised Bill

from other posts - they aren't reported to Plusnet by the BTw systems (I think I have got that right) so they don't show up on the bill

Re: 0800 numbers in Itemised Bill

That's correct I'm afraid - we only get the data for calls we're charged for, and as that isn't the case with 0800 numbers we don't get the information. There's also the fact that a lot of 0800 numbers are calls that people may want to keep confidential (childline etc) so I'm not sure we could get that information either I'm afraid.

If adagio provides the full 0800 number and the approximate date, PN should be able to confirm the time and date the call was made.

How? We don't get 0800 call data so can't trace it back.

Re: 0800 numbers in Itemised Bill

It is not a Childline or other confidential number. You have been told quite clearly what the number was which you can obviously check. If someone is having a problem with an electricity supplier and need to prove they made a call, they should not need to get a court order just for you to retrieve that very specific information.
Before BTw stopped passing that information to you, I had no trouble on one occasion getting confirmation of one call from yourselves and some considerable time back nor did I with another supplier on a different matter.

Re: 0800 numbers in Itemised Bill

I'll put the question to BTW Billing to see what the process would be, if we did need to confirm if an 0800 call had been made, might be a little while before I get an answer though Smiley

BTW Billing have confirmed that this information is not available to themselves, either. They have offered routes to escalate the query so it's possible that we might be able to track down a call under certain scenarios.

Turn it around on nPower and get them to prove you didn't call them?

You can't prove a negative.
