I'm surprised TalkTalk are allowed to charge for 'Freephone' numbers - even some mobile providers are free for 0800 (giff-gaff for example).
Surprisingly, although I know 0800 numbers are free to call on Plusnet home phone, I couldn't find these in the relevant parts on the Plusnet site: http://www.plus.net/home-broadband/tariffs/ I believe 0500 is also free.

BT don't send us details of 0800 calls so they're definitely free
