Re: 0300 Telephone Nos

Nope
Most of them are priced as 01, 02, 03 numbers and as such are charged or not charged as per your phone package
This gives a bit more information http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,85117.

All of them, surely? There should be no exceptions for 03 numbers.
Edit: I've just read the other thread where Mand claimed there were exceptions. As far as I am concerned, this is breaking the Ofcom rules if true.

Re: 0300 Telephone Nos

Doing a bit of digging I can't find any other reference to those codes and as they are charged at the same rate as all other 03 numbers
I am baffled as they should all be included unlike some of the 0870 which aren't.
I wonder if Mand made a mistake

Re: 0300 Telephone Nos

IIRC when I went digging there was some 03's that were a 'g..' chargeband I think it was. But I thought the rate for that band was the same as National. I'd have to dig again as I don't recall exactly or why.
Edit: Having read the linked thread above and checked, I can confirm that Plusnet do not charge for 037001 in inclusive times.

Re: 0300 Telephone Nos

I'm not sure of the answer to KevinG's question so I'm running a query on our database for the last 13 months' of calls. It's been going an hour so I thought I'd drop a post in to let you know I'm looking and will get back to you as soon as i have an answer Smiley

Re: 0300 Telephone Nos

I think that when we checked this last time, all of these were billed (or not) as free calls.
Ben's report should confirm.

Re: 0300 Telephone Nos

I had to re-run the query overnight for just the last month's data (and it still took more than 5 hours to complete!) and the results show that all calls come under the 'Local geographic' destination*.

Re: 0300 Telephone Nos

Depending on your call package (Evening & Weekends or Anytime, unsure about any legacy call plans):
Quote
Evening & weekend calls: Means calls to UK landlines beginning with 01, 02, 03, 0845 and 0870 made Monday-Friday 19:00-07:00 and anytime Saturday or Sunday. Calls must be started and finished within these times to be inclusive (non-chargeable).
Anytime calls: Means calls to UK landlines beginning with 01, 02, 03, 0845 and 0870 at anytime.
Hang up and re-dial before 60 minutes and you won't be charged.

Outside the "free calls" times they'd be charged at the standard geographical rate, same for calls exceeding 60 minutes.

Re: 0300 Telephone Nos

Just given for clarity (and to differentiate between current call packages).
As stated, '03' numbers are part of the standard call package and Ben appears to have confirmed that there are no exceptions (at least none that he found).

Re: 0300 Telephone Nos

Good - exactly as mandated by Ofcom then. No telecoms provider is allowed to charge more for 03 numbers than standard geographic numbers, nor to exclude them from packages which include geographic numbers.

Re: 0300 Telephone Nos

Sorry - I should have been clearer; we charge for calls based on the destination code (provided by BTW as part of the call data), not the actual number dialed. 01/02 numbers come under the destinations 'Local Geographic' or 'National Geographic'. The check that i did for the last month's data shows that all destination numbers starting '03' came with the destination code 'Local Geographic', making them the same charging rates as 01/02 numbers and included in whatever minutes your package has for those calls. This destination code isn't visible to the customer but this explains why our call tariff ( http://www.plus.net/residential/tariffs/homephone.html ) lists prices by destination, even though that destination is often not easily found by the customer when querying a particular number before a call is made.

Re: 0300 Telephone Nos

Sorry to bump an old thread but I thought I'd update this as I have recently queried a call with BT Wholesale Billing. Calls to 030 numbers are treated as calls to 01/02. Calls to 033 numbers have started to come in under destination g21 (4.89PPM daytime, 2.00PPM evening, 1.18PPM weekend). I expect that in time there will be more 03x numbers used which come under different destinations.
I'm aware that our call tariff states calls to 03 numbers are treated the same as 01/02, I'll get this corrected.
