what does that mean?

Saw this on the way to town this morning......
"Flexible Office Space"
on a rental board....    Does that mean the walls, and doorways etc are made of rubber, so you can get those awkward sized bits of euipment/furniture in without doing any damage?
On my way back I saw a white transit van with this on the side
Age Concern
Collection Vehicle
Immediately thought...... "I hope they aren`t coming for me just yet !!!"

Any other ideas from genuine signs of our times?

Re: what does that mean?

Its like when you see the sign - "Door Alarmed"  - poor door, must need a lot of calming down! Wink

Re: what does that mean?

You'd be shocked too with all those people coming towards you and pushing you out of the way!
I think flexible offices are like those play houses kids used to have back in the days when we had summers - you know, the plastic poles covered with a synthetic colourful sheet.
Damn things were always demonstrating their flexibility by collapsing IIRC from my yoof!

Re: what does that mean?

I've only ever seen ordinary pedestrians using this crossing:

Re: what does that mean?

I rather like the un-punctuated sign outside a small farm shop I pass regularly; "hay eggs"...what kind of bird (or reptile) is a hay?
Experience; is something you gain, just after you needed it most.

When faced with two choices, simply toss a coin. It works not because it settles the question for you. But because in that brief moment while the coin is in the air. You suddenly know what you are hoping for.

Re: what does that mean?

one of my favourite shop farm signs ever is:
honey knitting
yoghut weaving
just like that, no punctuation.  been making jokes about underwater yogurt weaving ever since.

Re: what does that mean?

In a village near here there's a side road in which there is a library and a cop shop. At the junction with the main road there's a sign reading "Library Police"  Grin

Re: what does that mean?

To return to the sentiments of the OP, what about that oft' seen sign "Men At Work" apart from being sexist, it's also so often a contradiction in terms, in this country anyway.
Or one seen regularly in car parks "Disabled Parking" I'm often overcome with an urge to re-enable it.

Re: what does that mean?

erh - do what.  Being a private hire car, you are only allowed to use it if you make an advanced booking, I.e. you cant just jump in it, thats agin the law Tongue
