Re: weird sandwiches

Who remembers a Dagwood sandwich?
Quote
A Dagwood sandwich is a thick multi-layered sandwich made up of a wide variety of meats, cheeses, and condiments. It was named after Dagwood Bumstead, a character in the comic strip Blondie, who frequently makes enormous sandwiches.[1]
Though the actual contents of a Dagwood remain obscure, such a sandwich seems to involve large quantities and varieties of cold cuts, sliced cheese, and additional slices of bread. An olive pierced by a toothpick or wooden skewer usually crowns the edible superstructure

do you make sandwiches with then Josie?

I use wheat and gluten free bread which unless toasted  tastes like cardboard, so it is usually cheese toastie, or rye bread [nice open sandwich with smoked salmon or pate].  But usually it is rye crackers or the wheat free crackers with cheese or pate.  Difficult when you go to functions that have buffets as most of offering are barmcakes with with toppings or sandwiches - I usually find myself having crisps, salad, crisps, chunks of cheese, crisps only!

so I suppose you could call my sandwiches weird!
