Re: vodafone

Its dishonest marketing.

They took the opportunity to use the ASAs inclusive pricing rules to mislead people...

Re: vodafone

Why is it dishonest? It includes the phone line, and you can add packages to it as with other ISP's.

Because there's difference between claiming theres no line rental and it being included in the price...

Re: vodafone

Yes I can see what you mean.
To say there is none, when presumably Vodafone have to pay BT Wholesale for it which is passed onto you then there is line rental.

plusnet do too. i am one of those who have that.
by "no phone" i assume you mean no phone supplied by the ISP.
because surely you knew that vodafone used the openreach network and weren't a cable operator?

of course, even though the voice service is provided by another supplied, i still technically have "no phone" as there is no actual phone plugged in to the line.

Re: vodafone

as far as i was aware , you cannot get BB without a physical phone line to your house will not matter who supplies it .

if you look it says monthly all in one price ?  so it must include a phone line , so this is just a marketing Con Ticked off

Re: vodafone

Con or not, from what i read in other forums e.g. Kitz, a bargepole seems too small.

No one has to agree with my opinion, but in the time I have left a miracle would be nice.

Re: vodafone

I don't see how it's a con, they ARE including a phone line ( click the 'find out more' ). It's just the total cost is £20/month for Fibre and a phone line. Not sure how they are going to make money on that but that's their decision.

As for bargepoles , well I agree with @Luzern

Re: vodafone

One thing I do like about most of the non BT/Plusnet companies is the point they make that their offers are available to new and current customers.

Re: vodafone

It's a tempting offer, but, I had a hell of a time getting away from vodamoan when I had come to the end of the contract for my old Galaxy Tab tablet (which when used on their network had no data despite paying for 2GB/month!!!), so that's soured any of their products for me...

Now if other suppliers would offer similar products then it might start shaking up the broadband market...

Re: vodafone

Yep @twocvbloke

Similar reason why I left them (about 4 years ago now), was when I got an iPhone and that was start of the smarphone era for me (people must remember the days before we used mobile data!), and I had trouble with data reception.

So I moved to EE, the only problem I get sometimes is reception in buildings. My IT friend told me it is due to the frequency it operates, it doesn't penetrate so well. Not sure if that is true, but he knows his stuff so I have no reason to doubt him. It was more of a minor annoyance than something that would make me want to switch, one of those things you can live with.

It seems to be getting better now (or maybe that is just me). Nice thing is I have an EE mast in the street next to mine so get good reception at home - yep 5/5 on my signal meter Smiley
