Re: the uk weather

I think the weather at the moment is a combination of two things:
Pollution (other EU countries are not suffering like this so its localised)
The nations mood - fed up, down in the dumps and hacked off.
I'll admit the second one sounds rather weird  Crazy

Re: the uk weather

You may not believe this but it's warm and sunny here at present. Where am I,  Spain, Egypt, Cyprus etc........... NOPE,
I'm in Preston, Lancashire. We are the ones normally getting all the rain but due to the recent shortage down south we thought it only fair to let you have some for a change.  Wink

I'm a big tennis fan also.  i was at Wimbledon on Thursday and we had wonderful weather.  We got burnt in the sun, and not a drop of rain all day.  The Pimms went down a treat Cool

Re: the uk weather

No rain problems at Wimbledon this weekend.  Great to see an Englishman win in the final yesterday.  Marray played a fantastic match and good to see him crowned a champion. Cool Cool
Also a fantastic masterclass in tennis this afternoon with Federer winning a 7th title in the Mens Singles. Cool Cool

Re: the uk weather

The last 4 water companies have lifted the hosepipe ban. A statement released contained
Quote
In a joint statement, the four firms said: "The companies would all like to thank their customers for complying with the restrictions and supporting their plea to use water wisely.
"This has kept demand for water well below levels normally experienced at this time of year.

I wonder if water usage was down because of the ban or because it been raining so no need to use hosepipes.  Roll eyes

Think Murray would vociferously argue with that. I know he's mellowed a bit over the years, but he's still inclined to fly-off the handle if described as a Brit let alone English.
Experience; is something you gain, just after you needed it most.

When faced with two choices, simply toss a coin. It works not because it settles the question for you. But because in that brief moment while the coin is in the air. You suddenly know what you are hoping for.
