the modern BBC - its the last straw -

at the same time that the BBC is running down its programs
its increasing it license fee's ,  its directors monetary salary ,along with
the wages of some of its 'so called' entertainers  , its episodes of east enders, and bonuses
gone is cricket, football, decent comedy and everything else that I used to enjoy in owning a television
instead of showing the TUC conference 2010 and at an important time in a new government
on either BBC 1 or BBC 2 like it was once shown
its been shared with its  BBC parliament channel on one of the free view  channels
I told myself this year , that if they were not going to televise this years conference on the main BBC tv
I would  be dumping the tv set  , then i wouldnt have to  renew the  bbc  license fee to such a
rubbishy company
license fees are no longer going on programming or to pay average salaries
but to pay fat cats  in the BBC

There will be no increase to the TV licence fee in 2011 after the BBC Trust offered to freeze it at £145.50 for the next two years.

Re: the modern BBC - its the last straw -

you can catchup on the tuc confrence http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00tv97s/TUC_Conference_2010_13_09_2010/
maybe the extra dollar is needed to pay for the tech that allows you to never miss a show, is freeview not in your area then?
personally i think the bbc parliament channel was the right place to air this, wasnt that impressed that they cut filthy rotten scroungers at 11am to air the pope's vist, why not cut to the important bits why do they waste are money to show us empty tarmac where the vatican's plane will come to a stand still in 30 mins time, they could of aired a whole program in that slot but nope a 30 min view of tarmac is better in the bbc's view

Re: the modern BBC - its the last straw -

why? are you removing the parts from the tv that enables it to receive live tv broadcasts then to be able to keep your tv legally without a license

It's not illegal to own receiving equipment without a license. It's illegal to use it to view live broadcasts without a license. So, for example, you can keep a TV with a tuner if you only use it to view DVDs, or for a games console, or whatever. If you've any doubt do what I did and drop TVL an email and ask for clarification.

I use a TV for DVDs & videos, and the aerial is feeding a Freeview box, used for radio channels via an amplifier and speakers. No licence required.

Re: the modern BBC - its the last straw -

I'm going to enjoy telling the BBC that  their programming has been
replaced with 'all shouting  to be heard'  cheap entertainment
that is either boring, sick , or  usually  offending  to one one group or another
unless your a fan of  east enders ,  which you cant escape from  even on Sundays
gone are  the  educational open  uni programs , you can wait weeks to see one interesting program
This year the BBC’s total income will top £5 billion for the first time if we include BBC Worldwide revenues and grants to the World Service and BBC Monitoring. Of that, £3.6 billion will come from the licence fee
