Re: test

I'm not normally given to adding a large number of links to my posts (I leave that to pierre) but the BST and DST rather interested me: http://www.nmm.ac.uk/explore/astronomy-and-time/time-facts/british-summer-time-(bst)

Re: test

Thanks Oldjim, it was the same link, no idea why mine didn't work, it was copied and pasted from the address bar...

PS. To paraphrase an old conundrum; How many PN staff does it take to change a timeline?

Re: test

It was due to the parsing software on the forum.
That is why I often use the BBcode
link
which gets round it

Thanks Petlew and Oldjim, an interesting link. Any information on the years when no change was made?

Re: test

Does a full stop constitute a topic Undecided or was the topic 'Test'...who knows...who cares....the resulting thread links make it all worthwhile.
I'm all in favour of sticking with GMT Cool

Re: test

gmt all year round for me.  can't see the point of all the makework of so-called 'daylight saving', which, to my mind, saves nothing.  all it does is upset everybody's internal clock.

I can put up with the dark mornings but I hate the dark evenings.  Is that a vote for retention of BST Undecided

Re: test

I'd be happy with GMT or BST, as long as it doesn't change twice a year. Whenever it changes some group somewhere doesn't like it, so let's just stop changing it.

Re: test

My Daughter works part time for a taxi company 6pm while 2am. Last night was a bit of a nightmare.
" I wana taxi at half 2"
"Will that be 2:30 BST or 2:30 GMT sir?"
"Eh?"
"Will that be 2:30 old time or 2:30 new time sir?"
"Dunno...just get me a taxi"....click Crazy

Try moving to the south west then and you'll get about 25 minutes of sunlight added on to your evenings for free. Smiley

Re: test

Out of interest, when Did the PN Clock change, Its not like the profile is it, up to at least post 7 it was one hour out, then at some time it changed and all post up to 7 were at the correct GMT, including the first at 0208, now 0108.  Does it change yesterdays as well?
