"Will love set you free"

Does anybody actually like the Engelbert Humperdink song for Europe? Which seems to me as being sung almost entirely on one note, except the fearful strain to hit the last note.
Come back Cliff, all is forgiven...

Quite agree with you about the last note and overall don't think we stand a chance.
Do we really need someone 10 months younger than me representing this country in Eurovision?
Have to say he was good when we saw him in pantomime at London Palladium. Mind you that was about 45 years ago  Wink

Having "accidentally" seen it in news programmes recently a couple of times and the Lottery show. I have gained the distinct impression that "Enge" is not that keen on it either.

Just watched it before commenting and I have to say what a dreadfully dreary song.  Is this the best we can do Undecided

Re: "Will love set you free"

Well yes, but only "just"
Seems to me EH is taking a tremendous chance with his reputation with this song. Remembering he has (in theory) to do it live on the night. He's not somebody I've ever really admired much. Maybe he's desperate for the publicity.
Apparently, its expected to do well (where it counts) with eastern European voters. No accounting for taste I suppose. So it probably doesn't matter if we don't like it here a lot.

well someone in the Eurovision Song Contest choose your singer department, obviously did......
however, he may be short of cash, and has decided to do it cos no-one else wants to ruin their career, and he doesn`t need to.... as it is almost over !.  Cheesy

Apparently, armies of young women did, throwing items of underwear onto the stage when he was performing.

The mind boggles at the thought of what his fans might throw these days.
