Only 40 minutes on hold?  How are you getting this preferential treatment? Wink

Now Zen, but a +Net residue.

Re: pot luck (its the system)

Some companies either have a call waiting time or a call back service, no idea why a company the size of PN do not offer a similar system as there appear to be a number of customers who comment on this.

Perhaps a issue for the users group along with feedback if such a idea cannot be implemented.

@pete56,

Could be worse, if you had been on the phone for over a hour despite getting free phone calls some companies charge you for a single call from the point where the hour is up.......sure you could hang up after 58 minutes, then make another call for 58 minutes..etc

Re: pot luck (its the system)

I do like it when the number you are waiting on gives an indication of your position in the queue.

Though it disheartening when the position goes down, as well as up!

At least with freephone numbers you are not charged for waiting.

Our local Surgery you can wait, and wait to be answered.

I used to put a time limit of 15 minutes (50p)

Nowadays I wait 2 minutes then try a different day, at a different time.

This week, I got through on the 3rd day.

Re: pot luck (its the system)

When I call my dentist, I invariably have to listen to advertising for the surgery's services before a receptionist asks, "Can you hold the line for a moment?"  Last time I said no, but was put on hold anyway and had to endure yet more advertising.  I'm sure if I wanted tooth-whitening, veneers etc. I'd know where to come, i.e. to a dentist!

While I wait to be seen I usually overhear the receptionist telling several callers that the surgery does not offer a call-back service, before taking their number to call them back later.  What's the point of that?
