Thanks for that... was just checking the QHM Movements to see when it was due... the last time we had a US carrier in the solent, was 7 june 2012, when I took this pic...
( I had to make a Panorama shot, because I couldn`t get it all in on one shot ! !)

Here is one of the pic`s I took of the U.S.S. Theodore Roosevelt, at anchor in the solent....
The small boat at the stern (back end) is a local ferry boat they charter to bring off the sailors for shore leave,  I think it can carry about 150 passengers... ( gives some idea of scale )...

Not particularly.... would not want to be on a BIG carrier like that... HMS Centaur was much much much smaller, but it was a great carrier, and I enjoyed my time on there...
