gov.uk eservice

Needed to complete a form and decided to do it online.
Using FF I found many fields weren't showing and, therefore, clicking Next just failed with errors about not having completed all data required.
IE9 was extremely slow with regular time-outs and crashes.
I rang their helpline to be told that the service was optimised for IE6 and they suggested I use that Shocked
Does anyone still use IE6?

You would think they would see that their forms can be handled by all browsers. Surely it's not beyond the capabilities of their IT dept.

Re: gov.uk eservice

I was told that it doesn't work with Safari, Opera or Chrome.
I have Chrome but never bothered to check it out.

Re: gov.uk eservice

Seems very odd.
I've recently taxed the car, and renewed a passport on 'gov.uk' sites with no problems using FF 18 or 19.*

Re: gov.uk eservice

Yes - I've done the same without issue before.
The problems were seen on both my PC and laptop yesterday so maybe just a blip with their system Undecided
Still, doesn't excuse the fact they do not support IE later than version 6.
