ever been paid to do a survey on your front door step?

yestrday a lady turned up at my door saying her company was working on behalf of ofcom and doing a limited 2000 people survey and for taking the 10 mins to do the survey i would get a whole £3  Cheesy cash in the hand
i was game they normaly get the door shut in there face amazing how little money changes your mind about somthing.
Any way the survery was basicaly questions about how easy you find the freeview switch over, do u use the internet on your fone, do you know the true speed of your broadband ect in the end it took more like 20 mins as she dosent get many people that knew what ip profiles blah blah was  Grin
i never knew survey company's paid people for doing surveys on your door step

Best one i had was a survey on behalf of Cathay Pacific at Heathow - £25 of M&S vouchers and this was about 15 years ago

I've stuck a note on the front door asking folk not to call if they wish to sell anything or to talk about changing utility supplier. I did this under duress because I was fed up with being bothered by them.
However, the lure of £3 doesn't tempt me to take it off.   Roll eyes

Re: ever been paid to do a survey on your front door step?

Think I've mentioned this before:
I was stopped for a high-street survey by a rather pushy type. When I responded "how much" and was told "oh we don't charge" I pointed out the error of her assessment of the situation by saying; "no, but I do, if you want my time you'll have to pay for it" She left the scene muttering darkly...
Experience; is something you gain, just after you needed it most.

When faced with two choices, simply toss a coin. It works not because it settles the question for you. But because in that brief moment while the coin is in the air. You suddenly know what you are hoping for.

Re: ever been paid to do a survey on your front door step?

I had two guys come round my house 3-4 weeks ago telling me that I could get broadband for free. I was amazed and clearly intrigued so I said to them "if you find out how to get broadband for free I'll pay you £16 a month" which coincidentally, since it was talk talk propaganda, was the exact amount I would have to pay in order to get this free broadband. Nevertheless I refused stating that it sounded to good to be true. They proceeded to tell me that all my neighbours were getting internet for free but I assured them my wireless router was secured and so it wasn't my fault.
Then they left. Then they came back later that day, presumably hoping that an idiot would answer the door this time. Unfortunately for them the idiot of the house had spoken to them earlier.
