Re: election candidates

nope - which is a pity as was going to enjoy asking detailed questions on the various manifestos and, in the case of Labour, the track record of the previous chancellor (specifically - please explain the economic cycle the government is borrowing over)

Re: election candidates

not a soul, which is a shame. but then as only 3 (out of 8 )  of the candidates live in the constituency  and you could stick a red rosette on a donkey and win...

Re: election candidates

All 3 main candidates stood in Chelmsford High Street, taking questions from shoppers.

Re: election candidates

None round here although we had a hustings meeting in the village hall last night with the three main parties represented.  We've got an extra loony on our list, unfortunately he's a fascist loony rather than a proper raving loony.

Re: election candidates

Hustings in our village hall tonight.
As a dead parrot painted blue would win with 75% of the vote it's all rather pointless.

Re: election candidates

we had a hustings meeting last Monday night at my Church [organised by all the local Churches Together] which was interesting - our present MP [Labour} was excellent, gave concise and rational answers, the Conservative waffled, and the lib dem - well................ he provided the entertainment!  He insisted on standing to answer questions so knocked chair over twice in doing so, pulled out the microphone wire, knocked over glass of water, and when was standing talked to table instead of audience!!
Our current MP has visited various people in area [mainly first time voters] and we have have lots of literature from him [keeps Holly busy running to front door to bark!], small amount of stuff from Conservative and nothing from lib dem.
I do not think there will be any change in this area.

Re: election candidates

Not a soul, not even a mail shot., we don't have TV (non reception area for terrestrial without extensive aerial system, got better things to do than watch SKY), no 'talks' in village hall or at local church, no telephone canvassing, complete apathy on behalf of candidates.
The seat is technically 'up-for-grabs' as the boundaries have been redrawn.
Like OldJim, I had a list of "Local Issue" questions ready
All a bit late now as we posted our votes yesterday.

(Correction, did receive a mail-shot from UKIP candidate in the adjacent area)

Re: election candidates

OldJim,
LOL.
Actually they probably could tell you that they do have a candidate, and that He`d make
a far better job than what all the other candidates could do put together lol.
I`m sure you`ll work out what I`m saying here.

Paulh
Interesting comment when you said `what election?`
Do you mean you dont think its going to happen?
OR
Are you implying that its rigged (already decided) lol.
