eBay location box

Has anyone else had this? Other half checking motorcycle pages on eBay - location box pops up requesting that you input your location and postcode then save or alternatively you can cancel.
Screen becomes blurred and you can't continue browsing until you cancel.
Using FF3.5 with ABP and third party cookies disabled. Happens every time you select an item and use the backpage arrow.
On the other lappy with Kaspersky the screen fades but then comes back straight away and don't get the popup box.
Anyone know what it is all about please?
He's moaning and groaning about it (as men do) and am getting a bit fed up - please help!  Huh

Re: eBay location box

Its so they can tell you how far away you are from the bike.
Fill it in - its nothing suspicious..

Re: eBay location box

Oh thanks James - he's gone on the Sony that has Kaspersky for now so it is less troublesome but will go tell him and that should make life peaceful again (well, as peaceful as it can be with men around).

Re: eBay location box

A number of sites do this.  It's quite useful really as it limits the original search to items which are nearer to you.

Re: eBay location box

eBay motors makes the assumption that 1 - You will need to visit to look at the vehicle and test drive/ride it. and 2 - You will need to collect it.
So on the basis of these two points, it likes to tell you how far away you are.
AutoTrader's website also does the same.

Re: eBay location box

On other ebay pages, you will see at the top of the postage column.... "postage to (your postcode) " Smiley
