broadband and phone costs one of few things that get cheaper?

Ive been with Plusnet for two years now for broadband and all calls.
Previously with Waitrose for broadband and BT for phone ,charges were on average £19.00 for each (£38.00) per month or £456.00 pa
Following my move to unlimited, my costs will be  £13.73 (after referral discount) plus annual rental payment £125.00 or £289.76 pa.
How I wish other costs had reduced also.

Back in April 2002 I was paying Pipex £23.44 per month for 512k connection + BT line rental.
Certainly cheaper nowadays as unlimited + line rental is less than £23.44

Looking back at my records
Sept 2003 ADSL Initial charge £58.75
Monthly charge £21.99 and I can't remember what that was but it had sod all usage allowance and was fixed speed (I think it was 512kbps)

Re: broadband and phone costs one of few things that get cheaper?

Just had a check through my records. I have no details from before I joined PN in 2002 but according to the Account Summary I paid over £80 for the router. I was on Premier 1 back then which I think was £21.99 a month with a peak-time allowance of 20GB. Can't remember how much I paid BT line rental but I think that was cheaper than when I left them list time last year.
