and all achieved without SatNav!

Nothing like missing a turning on an English MWay  is it? Funny for us, but I do recall that my first marital village had separate exits to each neighbouring town. I was good at choosing the wrong one.

No one has to agree with my opinion, but in the time I have left a miracle would be nice.

Re: and all achieved without SatNav!

A few years ago the wife and I ended up in a small village north of Bristol.

We were heading for Melksham and were diverted due to road works.

We expected to pass through this village but could find no other way out but the road we came in on.

We parked up, had some lunch at a cafe and then left the village to find an alternative route.

I imagine the village and that cafe do good business from captive motorists during the nearby road works.

No sat-nav, just paper maps.

'Marital village'...that's an interesting expression.

Re: and all achieved without SatNav!

I'm rarely lost for a new turn of phrase! ISTM that "first marital village" is shorter than "the village in which I first lived in, when I got married". I don't want to put my keyboard under stress.Wink

Right person? Well-50 years come October, three married offspring, and five God's gifts for not murdering my kids..

Does that  do?

Re: and all achieved without SatNav!

People have a marital home and a marital bed so a marital village is just a posher version.

@twocvbloke  I was going to refer to the UK as Prince Philip's marital country but thought that might be taking things too far.

Personally I prefer this version:

A gentler form of SWMBO is a GLW: 'good lady wife', rare as a two-tailed lizard! Funny

Hi @Luzern

Did SWMBO tell you to say that?
