No great surprise as to what the majority of the 246 guests are reading!

Anyone remember what the previous max number of users was?

Re: acs law thread breaking pn forum stat records

It doesn't yet appear in the top 10 topics read!
http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php?action=stats
Looking like it could move in to second place in terms of number of replies in the next couple of days (behind a quackers topic!).

Four front-end servers should easily cope.  AIUI we had more traffic when we were slashdotted due to Dave's blog post

It is now in third place and rapidly closing on second.

Re: acs law thread breaking pn forum stat records

Might be another interesting stat in a few months time with the minimum number of posts on the forum !!

Re: acs law thread breaking pn forum stat records

In terms of the thread with the largest number of posts, in 2007 we did have the ‘Very Dodgy Spam Situation’ back on the old portal forums, which owing to the forum software in use at the time was broken up in to – if I recall correctly – about seven separate threads. I therefore suspect that if all of the posts from all of the constituent parts were added together, the total number of posts would be in the top 5, and quite possibly even be at the very top.

Re: acs law thread breaking pn forum stat records

Very dodgy spam situation:
Part 1 289 replies
Part 2 284 replies
Part 3 327 replies
Part 4 282 replies
Part 5 282 replies
Part 6 283 replies
Part 7  50 replies
Total 1803 (remembering to add 1 for each of the first posts in the 6 continuation topics)
Thomas - as a moderator could you join them all together?

Re: acs law thread breaking pn forum stat records

Yep, would be possible, though it might be fiddly and I have no idea how well SMF would take to merging well over a thousand posts! We also don't generally tamper with archived posts, but I'll see what the other moderators think as I agree it'd be tidy to have them all together.

A heck of a lot better than the old forum software!

Re: acs law thread breaking pn forum stat records

Well yes, but that's largely because the old forum software didn't support merging at all. Smiley
