At last.... no more junk from Yellow Pages coming through our door, ( or left outside) apparently, it will be only available "on line" from the end of this year....
Every time we had a copy delivered ( since we had the internet )... it has gone straight into the bin... never used it.. totally pointless... and the guy running the company, said... " we think it is about time we went completely digital"
How far reaching and forward thinking is that ? ? ? Amazing they didn`t realize it 15 years ago ! ! !..

What?, going?...I got nothing to use now for fixing a wonky table or chair leg. You see, it did have it's uses.

So which one is easier to tear in half, yellow pages or a telephone directory.

That's true - I am old enough to remember the pre internet era!
I think in my parents loft, I found an old newspaper a few years back. Think the year was something like 1985. Interesting read, especially when the adverts all had cut out sections where you fill your name and address and post it off to get more information for something back through post.
Does anyone remember that? No go on-line and look something up back then

We had a mere slip of a girl working in the office. Annoying to everybody she could rip a telephone directory in half with little effort. Of course we all had to try, and fail, which must have destroyed many dozen directories.
Apparently the trick was cracking the binding before ripping.......

One thing I did do when I were younger, on bonfire night.
There was an empty 2 litre coke bottle, so being young and bored I stuck it on the bonfire. Left the cap on.
Nothing happened for 10 minutes.
All of a sudden it exploded, not badly but it didn't harm anyone luckily.
Now I realise why that the air tried to expand but couldn't. As they say on TV "Do not try this at home"
