Suggestion.... Everybody donate £1 to me because to be honest I could do with the cash.
Wishlist... That some day everybody will realise we are all sitting on the same ball of rock... Piece!!

Centralish?! I think not Smiley
I'll definitely be going back down south for Xmas.  Should be the summer down there.

It's OK it's me - I got confused because of the topic title and thought I was reading the new posts in the Ideas, Suggestions & Wishlists forum!

Is that on the outskirts of Manchester?

Apparently, it's actually London, Birmingham, Manchester, Sheffield.
From what I'm continually being told (and don't believe it for one second!).
Always amuses me from what I was sat at Sheffield train station when the automated announcements of trains going to Leeds always seemed to say "t'Leeds".

Only someone who thought Leeds had something going for it could get so het up about statistics to prove a point.  The main problem with Leeds is that it is not in Lancashire - Manchester has the advantage there  (even if government did try to mess up the County Palatine in 1973)

Here's a contentious one!
Isn't Manchester in Greater Manchester?

Would be interesting to find out where that information is taken from.

Personally I only consider proper cities as cities rather than these upstarts with a few extra population. So actually (and I can't believe I am saying this) Manchester is a proper city unlike Leeds.
For anyone who is really interested have a look at satellite photographs and see if you can make out where one town / city begins and another ends.

Re: Wow... Ideas, Suggestions and Wishlists... OK then....

I still prefer the old definition where a city had to have a cathedral.
St Albans, just down the road from here, is a city whereas Milton Keynes keeps describing itself as the" new city" but has failed to achieve, thankfully, that status thus far.
Very true that City of London has very few actual residents - at one time it was totally dead there after about 6pm.
