World Police

With all the problems occurring in the world today with the likes of ISIS and Putin, what's wrong with a World Police.
Some might suggest we already have one but they would need the authority of the majority of governments in order to be effective.

Re: World Police

the majority of which governments though?
every government in the world? or just selected governments that we deem acceptable?
if it's every government in the world then you would never get anywhere near a majority agreeing on anything.
isn't the UN effectively a "world police" anyway?

Re: World Police

Even we do not have a national police force so if we are unable to organize that what chance do we stand of having a world police force. ?

I'm not sure 'UN' and 'effectively' fit together well Wink

Let's say all countries would be balloted whether democratic, dictatorships or undecided.

as i said, no chance in hell you'd ever get a majority on any decision.
everyone is only concerned about protecting their own interests - that why Europe is taking interest in Ukraine due to the oil and gas routes they have. if there wasn't any oil/gas then they wouldn't give a toss about what happened to them.

Re: World Police

It is one of the plots I considered for a book. A teenager is given the power to police the world by population clearance of any geographic area. The plot lines were scary.
Now Zen, but a +Net residue.

Re: World Police

Would that teenager have the first name of Adolf... and a last name of Hitler, by any chance ?

Re: World Police

For world police we only need one officer.
That would be Gort.
