Wisdom teeth extraction strange side effect.

I had my tow top wisdom teeth removed this morning. Never got any on the bottom. I am sure loads of you have been through this so I don't need to go into details.
What is strange though is that there is now an air leak from my mouth to my nose through one of the open wounds which is a very strange experience. I have read that in some cases there can be an opening into the nasel cavity when upper wisdom teeth are removed. This seals up as the wound heals. Anyone experienced this?

I had two wisdom teeth removed a very very long time ago and definitely didn't have your symptoms Sean. It's worth checking with someone but it sounds as if there is nothing to be done but wait for it to heal. Poor you!

Going to phone my dentist in the morning about it. Not concerned but just to be sure. One good thing did come out of the whole thing. I have discovered Vanilla and Custard Muller Rice Smiley

Re: Wisdom teeth extraction strange side effect.

Although not related to wisdom teeth, I once had a problem in my mouth after dental work, and I visited my GP who sorted it out rather than the dentist.
So it may be worth you doing the same ?

I had my wisdom teeth removed hence why I now have no wisdom but you do get strange effects the first week or so. With me I kept whistling when I spoke ever other word ended with a whistle. You body soon gets used to it but it is a big change in your mouth space and has strange effects

Well, no, I think we'd all prefer it if our bottoms remained toothless.

So that would explain my incredibly high levels of intellect, with having 4 wisdom teeth coupled with being left (and thus superior) handed.*

Trueish.  I'm actually neither left nor right handed.
Sean - Hope you get to the bottom of your strange air holes soon!

Re: Wisdom teeth extraction strange side effect.

Nope, I'm cross handed!
I'm naturally right handed, but because I'm left eye dominant (I don't use my right eye unless my left eye is blocked), I write with my left hand, but play sports (expect snooker/pool) right handed.
