Re: Winter Warmer Food

At 3:30am this morning, it's -5.5ºC outside, so that is a very good idea !!

Chilli last night, and it looks like homemade Onion Soup for breakfast....

Got to get up in a few hours so it'll be a bowl of porridge with cinamon then a couple of toasted ham sarnies.

not recommended - it needs to be stored in the freezer

Re: Winter Warmer Food

It's a small batch, usually just 4 portions, eaten on a daily basis = 4 days.

Never had  problem.

But yes, for a large batch, a freezer would be used.

Re: Winter Warmer Food

Why all the rush?

A three inch layer of cubed and floured beef rump steak in the base of a slow cooker crock pot. Drown the meat in cider. Chuck in a handful of chopped rosemary and some thyme, salt and pepper to taste. Cover with layers of chopped root vegetables and potatoes. Add some lentils and butter beans.  top up with hot beef stock. Then cook slowly for at least five hours.

Serve with freshly baked crusty bread.

Now Zen, but a +Net residue.

When it's that cold outside at night, what's the problem?...local curry house on speed dial and let them come to you.  Thumbs Up

As for brekky, I'm all for the porridge with a hint of cinnamon.

A float tip is pleasing in its appearance and even more pleasing in its disappearance.
