Re: Winter Olympics

At work, so will have to watch it tonight.
Be interesting to watch it after I watched the London 2012 one.

I am sure you are right, I cannot see any other country spending more than what Russia has spent on these games, perhaps they should have spent less on the Games and more on the Hotels mentioned in another post.

Re: Winter Olympics

From what I read on this earlier, 90% of what was spent seems to have gone via corrupted avenues.

Re: Winter Olympics

@gleneagles, the information about it being the most expensive Olympics was given on BBC at the start of the ceremony.
@Strat, the plane has landed in Turkey and now under Turkish control.

I fear this could be the first of a number of incidents during the games.

Re: Winter Olympics

The opening ceremony was OK but certainly not as good as London 2012 IMO.
I wonder  what the Russians will say privately to the organisers about the snowflake that failed to open. Maybe someone has a one way ticket to Siberia Wink

Re: Winter Olympics

Most corrupt games ever.
I bet not even 25% of the money has been spent on the games.

Re: Winter Olympics

A Bronze medal from British women in the curling means we have now matched our best ever medal haul at the Winter Olympics.
