Re: Windy Bins

Bin or bag, they'll still get blown away unless you do something to prevent it - like not putting out either until just before the 'bin person' is due.

"Oh my old man's a dustman.... "

Patient: Doctor, I keep thinking I'm a dustbin.

Doctor: Don't talk rubbish!

Re: Windy Bins

Bin men day is after Dennis Day....

(They should have named it Doris !)

So I'll just keep 'em tied up and sheltered.

But there will be loads of twigs (and branches) about after Dennis, as there was after storm C.

And hopefully no roof tiles....

ie: No roof tiles, scattered about on the ground.

Re: Windy Bins

From reports, storm Dennis is more about the amount of rain rather than the strength of the wind. 'Batten down the hatches' maybe, but keep those wellies and sandbags handy if you are near any rivers or canals.

It's going to be more wet than windy folks.

Re: Windy Bins

Thankfully for me, bin fairy days are Thursdays, so the bins can stay put hunkered down where they are... 😂

Re: Windy Bins

Bin day here is Monday.

My solution for not having recycling and bins blown about?

Simple, just don't put them out, there's always next time.

I guarantee with this wind it will be gone by morning.

😅

And then... someone`s doorbell camera will capture it.....  they will review it,.. put it on social media, you tube etc... call it "Gone with the wind"   and make a fortune from the hits ! ! ..

Raining cats and dogs here at the moment..... and there goes another terrified looking moggie flying past my window!

Always a plus side to things I say.  😋

Another reason why women are too short and too small to be firefighters! 😉

Meanwhile, the person on the right in the picture carrying the suitcase appears to be (physically at least, whether they identify as such I don't know), a woman........ 🤣

Re: Windy Bins

Blowing harder than last week here despite the forecast saying it isn't. Just lost a long length of my old cast iron guttering. Made a hell of a crash as the pieces fell to the ground. I'm guessing that most likely means a roof tile was blown off and hit it on the way down.

I was hoping the noise was from a neighbours bin which made it to the middle of the road. Until I noticed the bits of guttering everywhere when I went to fetch their bin for them.
