Windowless Planes

This looks an interesting idea.
Just to make it a little more interesting they could extend the idea to the floor Shocked

Re: Windowless Planes

I like the idea.
But what happens if you want to sleep, can the section around you be turned off? Or made to look like a conventional window?

Re: Windowless Planes

It would be much more interesting having a screen at your feet to see the view below.
Now Zen, but a +Net residue.

Re: Windowless Planes

A number of passenger aircraft already provide this as part of their inflight entertainment service.
However, not much use on a long-haul night flight.

Re: Windowless Planes

Personally, I'd just do away with the windows altogether and feed sedatives to anyone who freaks out from being stuck inside a pressurised metal tube... Grin

Ahh you'll have heard of the Air Cosh then?  Used to calm passengers on long flights.

Most airlines provide a moving map on the inflight entertainment but few now provide actual camera views  because of adverse passenger reaction.

Re: Windowless Planes

Cameras were on the Lufthansa Airbus A380 that I flew on last month to and from Johannesburg.
Great views on take off and landing - far better than the films on offer.
Cameras high on tail and underneath the aircraft.

Re: Windowless Planes

American Airlines removed them from their aircraft some years ago.

Re: Windowless Planes

I can imagine a 'window seat' would be quite unnerving for those of us not good with heights Shocked
