Wild Weather

This is a wet and windy period we are going through and it's taken the door off one of my sheds. I managed to wedge it back in place temporarily as a new set of hinges are needed.
Even in our relatively sheltered estate I clocked 43mph wind last night at half past midnight as can be seen here http://www.thecowenfamily.co.uk/weather/today.htm.
I'm keeping an eye on my telephone line as it's swinging about wildly.
I'm just thankful I didn't put out the bottle and paper bins for emptying as they would be half way to Manchester by now in this WNW wind.

Re: Wild Weather

It was pretty bad in S2!
I was genuinely worried that my bedroom window wasn't going to cope with the bashing it was getting from the wind!
Apparently gusts of upto 90mph in our region.

Although for the website pages I use Cumulus which also allows me to do this. Smiley
The guy who wrote Cumulus lives up here, or more precisely here.
I think I prefer my location.

Re: Wild Weather

In Essex we had very strong winds, torrential rain last night.  This morning a number of trees have been blown over and some roads required clearing.

Not really journeys. If I can do it anyone can Embarrassed
The 'Real Time' wind gauges at the bottom of this page are a wee bit of a cheat as they update every 10 seconds at the moment although I can drop that to 3 seconds if need be.

I use the WeatherBug widget on my iMac, constant instant readings of wind, temp etc.

Re: Wild Weather

Not sure if there is still a water shortage in some parts of the UK but we have plenty of Water to spare in Lancashire if anyone needs it, I don't think it has stopped raining here for weeks !

Re: Wild Weather

Wow...we narrowly escaped the worst here in Sheffield as a weather station in High Bradfield, just 7 miles to the north west recorded a gust of 93 mph. Shocked
Puts my 43 mph well in the shade.
