Re: Whoops!!

That sounds dodgy to me! All MoT stations have to do a brake test on a static dynamometer. When you apply the brakes at full whack it measures the force that the brake is applying. How that can be done while driving is a bit of a mystery!

Re: Whoops!!

Some cars won't go onto the rollers on MOT test stations - heavily lowered cars and 4x4s are one example.
In this case, the tester takes them out with a bit of kit which measures deceleration instead (if I remember the MOT stuff rightly).
What makes me smile is the headline : "Mechanic who caused £87,000 of damage when he crashed £220,000 Lamborghini"
They wrote the Lambo off and the insurance paid out the owner £87,000 so it wasn't really £220,000 worth of Lamborghini is it ?

Re: Whoops!!

Here you go - 4X4 brake testing - I know they also use it for cars that won't go on the rollers.

@shalom2010
I enjoy your posts on the forum, which are witty, sincere, and intelligent. So I had put you in the "always read this guys posts" box.
Then you go and spoil it by posting a link from from the Daily Mail. Shame on you!

They use a Tapley meter, the Police also use it sometimes in accident investigations.
