Re: Whoops, serves him right

Yup!.... Serves him right....
we have a small problem at the corner of a field, local to us.... there is normally just enough room to park a car, so that the owner can then take his dog for a walk along the lane, however, some irresponsible cowboy builder, and other miscreants, seem to think it is a good place to dump their rubbish.  Strange how the enforcement authorities have not put cctv in the area.....

Re: Whoops, serves him right

Agreed, serves him right.
We have a local issue with 'tyre dumpers'................folk who ditch 6-8 old car tyres at a time on country roads, lob them over walls etc. To avoid the 'tyre disposal tax'
Which is a bit daft really as the local cement factory burns old car tyres (in a clean process) for the production of cement.

Re: Whoops, serves him right

Totally disagree with you all - he should sue the farmer for not having adequate drainage in the field and for compensation for his hand-tooled Italian shoes which were undoubtedly  ruined when he had to wade to the road, the lack of lighting to light the way and for the mental anguish he suffered as a result of this.

Re: Whoops, serves him right

Yep, I agree with that. The current and last government seem to like everything to be completely backward with the innocent being punished for wrong doers doings so yeah I reckon the dumper should sue.
Of course in reality i reckon he should get locked up but i suspect they'd only consider an asbo.

Re: Whoops, serves him right

Even better if they made him go back and load all the rubbish back on to his truck !

No - even better would have been if there had been other rubbish fly-tipped in the same place and they made him pick that up as well, then escorted him to the proper council rubbish centre and made him pay for the lot.

Re: Whoops, serves him right

Only got the info in the article above.
The offence was outside the range of the Local paper, but he lived local, did try to google it when first saw it but found nothing

Re: Whoops, serves him right

did a search on his name and came up with another newspaper article with other cases as well
http://www.hertsandessexobserver.co.uk/Dunmow-Stansted/Fine-for-fly-tipping-builder-in-Stansted.htm
you could have done the same
Quote
It was the latest successful prosecution for the council. Last month, Louise White of Stansted was fined £50 plus £20 costs and a £15 victim surcharge after admitting dumping six bin bags of waste along with other items including old carpets and parts of vacuum cleaners in Snakes Lane, Stansted.
She was tracked down after council enforcement officers found items including old council tax bills, a car log book and utilities receipts among the waste in the bags.
And another Stansted resident was issued with a formal warning and asked to pay £73 costs after four bags of rubbish were found dumped in Pennington Lane in the village following a tip-off from the parish council.

Re: Whoops, serves him right

Went to a Craft show at Towerlands today, anyone remember the Showjumping Champion Towerlands Anglezarke?
Any way, it has a well used shingle faced car park, which today was being used by the disabled as it was nearest to the main door.
When I came out at about 14:30, there was a car, with woman driver and two bemused official looking at it stuck with its front well and truly looking like that tipper, they seemed to be waiting for the tow out vehicle

And then make him do some refuse collections with the local council FOC for a few weeks  Grin
