Which shops to best electronic sales? Also some TV suggestion please!

I am in the market for a 26" TV for my PS3/360. I have been waiting all year to buy one and now that Christmas is just around the corner the sales are starting. So where is the best place to look? Can I also have some help in picking it. I have no idea what I am supposed to be looking, they all look the same. Budget is quite tight. Maximum is £300, would be better if it is cheaper.
Thank you Smiley

If a long guarantee is important to you then John Lewis as all TV's come with a 5 year warranty.

Samsung seems to be the fore runner in screen technology these days.
Experience; is something you gain, just after you needed it most.

When faced with two choices, simply toss a coin. It works not because it settles the question for you. But because in that brief moment while the coin is in the air. You suddenly know what you are hoping for.

Go and see a selection for real before you part with any money. Cheaper LCDs often have poor colour resolution, so you lose detail particularly in low contrast scenes like night scenes. Ask yourself why most retailers show their TVs with nice bright colourful images! Try taking a DVD or game of your own and ask to try it. Choose something with low contrast scenes and naturalistic colours - think The Crow rather than Finding Nemo.

Yes, we've used Richer Sounds on a few occasions and their prices were good.
Last Sharp TV that I bought (earlier this year) was from Crampton and Moore:

Bought my Panasonic from them a few years ago and it has been fine.
Don't envy your task - my brain was completely addled when I was looking for the Sharp earlier this year.
