When I started shaving (many moons ago) I had a “Thorens Riviera” Clockwork Razor - yes, it was a wind-up!  And then progressed to electric shavers.  I have tried “wet shaving” and I know it gives a much better shave, but - no matter how careful I am, I always nick myself a few times- especially on the throat area.  So an electric is the machine for me!

@Javert, one of those Thorens clockwork shavers turned up on TV's auction show "Bargain Hunt" a short while ago. Got £20 for it if I remember..
