A total of 1,400 yards weighing around 70 tonnes had been taken and it is thought a vehicle was used by the thieves to access the line and load the rail onto as tyre marks were found.

Dumbo why couldnt they have carried it by hand?

Re: What will they steal next

I knew someone years ago who had been on a derailed train when it derailed. He said it was one of the most terrifying incidents he could recall as the train became extremely unstable.
Amazing really how those 2 tiny little rails hold so much weight on top of them. When you think about it, in comparison to the train itself they're not actually that big.

Re: What will they steal next

and a really, really, intelligent quote from the investigating officer
Quote

We are currently conducting local enquiries into the incident including forensic analysis to track down those responsible," said DC Grice.

Why are they not conducting nationwide enquiries ?  they won`t have the stuff in their back garden will they..  Roll eyes  .. and to say they are using "forensic analysis" to "track down"    Grin  the theives... is a bit of an obvious statement.... what else have they got to go on?  (oh of course the tyre marks ! ! ! ) Cheesy

Re: What will they steal next

It not outright correct to say it, My step son is building a new house and his Garage/workshop (which is heated) had there copper stolen, he is a bit of a wide boy, found out who did it and took his revenge, no caravans involved
