Re: What to do if...

Back in the late 70's I was a seasonal postman. I remember one house I had to really push hard to get any letters through the box and just inside it felt furry and creepy. I hated posting at that house Crazy

Re: What to do if...

When I've been delivering (as a volunteer) I've always looked for the letter box rather than a door. I've found them in walls, or a separate lockable box as well as in doors.  Undecided
But is it a legal requirement for a householder to provide a letterbox to allow deliveries and is there a specified size  Huh

I don't think so. When I used to work for a central government dept moons ago we frequently used to see post returned that had a "access not possible" response from royal mail. Some would have "no letter box" written on them.

Not a legal requirement, and as mentioned above, it doesn't have to be in the door. I believe there is a recommended size.
If there isn't one, Royal Mail can refuse to deliver, after having written to you to explain. Don't know where the letter gets delivered though.  Crazy

Re: What to do if...

The building owners should replace the glass door panel with Lexan. It would undermine the self confidence of heavy footed postal workers.
Now Zen, but a +Net residue.
