As per title
It is the best era(s) to get people up on the dance floor & to sing along
Even the kids jive to it Smiley

Er it isn't. 50s - 70s music is awful!
Too slow, no electro sounds, no experimenting with other artists...
Oh and did I mention how dreary it sounds?

Re: What makes the 50 - 70's music so catchy & so darn good ?? :)

I think 50's and 70's were the greatest periods for music + the sixties for the Beatles.
Dreary, no. In fact, without what we had back then I doubt if you'd have your electro, rap and other stuff I don't particularly like Wink
I would say that the majority of what I listen to these days if from the 50's, 70's and 80's.
For me, much of what we hear these days is poor regurgitation of earlier stuff.

Re: What makes the 50 - 70's music so catchy & so darn good ?? :)

It is so awful
Why do modern artists use them in various ways, like speeded up / slowed down / mixed with other affects to create their so-called own work ?Huh
& why is it that 50's - 70's music can be understood, what the singer is singing
So slow is it
The crystals
If that don't make you wanna get up & dance / foot tapping etc, then nothing will

Because there is only so many combinations of notes and timings you can use in any song / tune before ideas run dry. These latest versions bring incredible new life to what were once boring tunes. They are lively, can introduce new mysterious sounds, do all sorts of effects that normal instruments couldn't etc.

Well with a lot of rock groups you can't understand any of it and those were FROM THAT PERIOD!!!

Fully agree, what passes for music today is mostly rubbish, some of this so called rap & Acid house stuff can only appeal to people who are brain dead

I doubt the manufacturer of your PC made every single component - I bet the monitor socket was made elsewhere like the kettle lead, the LCD panel, hard drive, motherboard...
Despite that I'll bet you or a company who's badge is on it claimed to have made it  Wink
How is using other peoples components wrong? - It isn't.
So why does that not apply to music?

Re: What makes the 50 - 70's music so catchy & so darn good ?? :)

You can't in all honesty say that any music is rubbish....not to your taste maybe.
All music has been created by someone who presumably is pleased with their work and the appreciation others give to it.
I'm currently listening to a Metallica concert as I type......certainly not to everyone's taste including my daughter who says it's just shouting Roll eyes
PS I don't remember the 70s which is apparently a good thing and means I enjoyed it.

Tastes can also change over time so what you may find awful listening material now you may enjoy at some stage in the future or vice-versa.
