What is wrong with this screen cap?

Can you spot the obvious error?

Re: What is wrong with this screen cap?

Precisely. I had a similar sort of situation the other week trying to log in to an online mobile phone account from my PC. It insisted it had to text me a code to use and I had NO signal Shocked You can imagine that when I did get logged in later the feedback wasn't too polite.

Re: What is wrong with this screen cap?

Does the number have to match the old number you are removing?

I assumed this was just a verification step so any number you put in as long as you get the message is fine?

Re: What is wrong with this screen cap?

Is the issue more about if your mobile was lost/stolen?

Re: What is wrong with this screen cap?

There's nothing wrong with the image as I see it considering it does say "If your phone is available, ...". So I guess if it isn't then there are other ways to remove the number, considering your phone could be lost or stolen.

Re: What is wrong with this screen cap?

@Anonymous. Invariably that's never the case.
@tokey there's nowhere to enter another number.

Re: What is wrong with this screen cap?

@Anotherone - I don't know where that screen capture is from but if you're saying there is no other way then that is stupid beyond words taking into consideration what I said earlier regarding lost or stolen phones.

By the way the page is styled with the colour scheme and button i am going to guess that this is Steam? And anyone who knows Steam would also know they have the worst customer service ever.

Re: What is wrong with this screen cap?

Yes it is Stream the steam guard app settings.

You change your phone number you need to send a text to the OLD number, but you have already told them you don't have access to the phone...

I asked them to change the setting from app to email last month when my phone broke, I wanted to move it to a new number but found this page when I wanted to so.

Without access to the old number you have to go through the help and they are the pits. Fine if you port your number, but I don't want to.

Re: What is wrong with this screen cap?

the last time I had a contract sim I didn't want to port the number on I had it moved to a payg sim and reissued by the old provider just so I could go through the rigmarole of changing the number on a few dozen websites ...

the time after that I ported the number just so I didn't have to do all that nonsense again /

just because your paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you
