Re: What do you call this?

As someone on a Low Carb High Fat diet, I'd call it a 500gm weight gain.

Now Zen, but a +Net residue.

Re: What do you call this?

It's a bap, but if McDonald's can use the word sandwich to describe their 'burgers-in-a-bun', I suppose any bread-related word would do.

Re: What do you call this?

I live a few hundred yards from the South Yorkshire / Derbyshire border on the South Yorkshire side and up the road from us is a chippy.

He has Chip Buttys and Cobs on the menu. When I asked what the Cob was on his menu he said a Chip Butty for those customers from across the border.

Re: What do you call this?

I was born in York....  and "dragged up"  in Leicester. ! .. We always referred to the COB as a "crispy crusty" roll .... I think the one in the pic would be called a BAP, or a Soft Round Roll, by most people....

The name  "COB" is a shortened version of the "grown up" bread loaf.... the COBURG..

Re: What do you call this?

Gotta love 'em whatever they are called, but is there is anything more unhealthy?

Who cares! Thumbs_Up

Re: What do you call this?

It's chips on a bun. Cheesy

Not a cob, and not a chip buttie.

I don't think I've ever had one like that. Usually it's a couple of slices off a decent loaf.

And cobs are crusty.

And rolls are, well, rolls. Long soft bread buns. . .

Re: What do you call this?

@Minivanman We used to get them in the works canteen, and that's got to be 40 years ago give or take.

I don't think I've had one since.
