I do like my small engines, though I only have two mowers out there, and one isn't even mine (it belongs to my uncle's landlord)... Grin

Re: What are we all doing today ?

I just got my stuff finished...and I'm off at 5.30am to match venue.

10 each of size 18, 16, 14 hooks, tied.

6 fishing floats made from scratch, painted and dried. Done

6 x 2oz inline carp leads, made and coated. Done

Luncheon meat, cubed to 8mm. Done

Sweetcorn prepared and flavoured. Done

Rest of baits prepared and hemp boiled. Done

New line on 2 reels. Done

Flasks cleaned. Done

Rest of gear packed and ready for 5.30am.

I've come to the conclusion that there's no such thing as a day off.  Roll eyes

A float tip is pleasing in its appearance and even more pleasing in its disappearance.

Tight lines @Pete11
I must have been really bad in a previous life as this was my 3rd ISP in a row that used lithium.
Now you're stuck with me because my new ISP doesn't run a forum Cheesy

Thanks,

The syphon to get the petrol out of the lawnmower is a good idea, there is some stuff on the market that claims to keep petrol fresh for up to two years but clearly the cheapest option is to syphon the petrol off.

Yeah, I'd used Lucas fuel stabilizer (spelled with a Zed cos it's a merkin product), but to be honest, with all the ethanol they put in petrol these days, it's better to use it up and not store it as the ethanol absorbs water from the air, a couple of bottles of petrol I had from previous machinery use (POSgen play and the two-stroke I'd mixed for the stinkers) have nice pools of water in the bottom, despite having been treated with the Lucas stuff which was supposed to prevent that from happening... Roll eyes

I've seen people's methods of removing ethanol from petrol by mixing the fuel with water, shaking it up and then separating out the now ethanol-laced water layer, keep thinking of doing that as a video, but keep forgetting about it...Grin

Re: What are we all doing today ?

Update to this thread...Here's what I ended up with on the fishing match.

The winner (Me), and the 2 runners-up).

Winner.JPG

Me with winners shield, the middle is a trophy for biggest fish and the small trophy is for winning the match from what's classed as the worst peg on the lake.

Large Bream.JPG

Above is pic of largest fish that won me the middle trophy. A Bream weighing in at 7lb 2oz. Don't let the sunshine fool you, it was windy and cold even with the sun out (which didn't last long).

Altogether I wieghed in 44lb 9oz, 13lb ahead of 2nd place.  Now you know how I spend my days off.  Thumbs Up
