What a Farce......

Some adverts on telly are.....
when you watch the advert from "We buy any home dot com"..... what is wrong with all the people on there?  Why are they  SOOOoooo  happy...?Huh

because they got below market price for their home... and now they are homeless,...
Yeah.. it shows them living a "happy" existence... but in reality... they must be living with relatives, or in rented accomodation...

Shhh!! Don't tell anyone, but, they're paid actors!!!
But that aside, yeah, those car and home buyer companies are just big scams, nobody in their right mind could be happy with half the actual value of their items, heck, my grandma's house (she had to go into care because of dementia, and passed away last year) was sold to one at half the true value, and they goits resold it for 120% of the value!! Re: What a Farce......

Speaking of estate agents...
My Sister and I sold our Dad's house quite a few years ago.
We went to a local Estate Agent and he suggested a price which we accepted.
Within 2 days the Estate Agent called us with a prospective buyer offering the full price.
The Estate Agent strongly advised us to accept the offer telling us it would be the best offer we would get.
We discussed it and decided to go on our own, rejecting the offer and paying off the Estate Agent.
We advertised the property in the local paper and received 3 offers, one of which was twice the Estate Agent's valuation.
We met up with the young couple and the deal was done....they begged us not to renege on the deal as had happened to them before.
We got the feeling that the Estate Agent had done a deal, maybe with a letting agent looking for cheap properties.

I suppose it depends how quickly you need the funds.
Some time ago I thought I'd see how much they'd offer for my 13 reg Zafira out of curiosity. But when they wanted my name, email address and other details I decided not to bother.

I imagine that happens a lot.
Reminded me of that Midsomer Murders episode "The House in the Woods".
