Re: Weird

It's a sequence of unicode characters (view source...), only last one is visible, the visible character probably doesn't have much significance besides making a bit more of a mess by being rendered over the top of other characters you try to type.

Re: Weird

I've already looked at the html and the round dotted character shows up there too.
What I did notice is that it doesn't work in MS word, notepad++ or the run box so must be a browser trick to do with one of the many encodings out there for different languages.
EDIT - beaten by ejs lol

Re: Weird

It works slightly differently in gedit on Linux in that you can step through all the invisible characters with the arrow keys, you'll be typing right-to-left when at the end of the line.

On SWMBO's PC in WordPad it changed the language to Russian, in WordPad on my PC it changed it to Ukrainian!
Probably has something to do with the fact that we both have Russian language installed and I also have Ukrainian. No idea what would happen in WordPad without another language being installed.

Those unicode characters are a royal PITA with the work I do,  they're even more fun when the documents are saved in UTF-8 (16 or 32) as they don't show up at all unless you use an editor that knows about them and wants to show them (or a hex editor).
Unfortunately,  to support left-to-right languages (like English) as well as right-to-left languages (Arabic/Hebrew) they're necessary.  Their behaviour is defined by the Unicode Bidirectional Algorithm.
