Weather and work

OK. you guys... if you work outdoors, and need a weather forecast to tell you when it will start to rain.... have a look at this
http://www.accuweather.com/en/gb/portsmouth/po1-2/minute-weather-forecast/710325
The page is open at Portsmouth, this morning... currently, 09:53 it is overcast but NOT raining.... it says it will start to rain at 11:08 and stop at 11:30....
Never used it before, so would be good if you could monitor it for your location and see how accurate it is, and report back on here....

Re: Weather and work

As I've mentioned before I use Accuweather. I have it set on both my mobile phones. I find it very accurate and it can be set for very local areas Smiley

Re: Weather and work

Well, It was "fairly" accurate, in that the rain did start .... but about 10 mins earlier than predicted.... and stopped about the correct predicted time... so ..... not bad... for today !..
Will keep an eye in it, for futures.......

Re: Weather and work

Where I am it said it would rain in 110 minutes. Turned out a lovely bright dry day.
I wouldn't say it was any different to the BBC local weather site.
All these so called "forecasts" change/disappear/update by the minute anyway.
Some are bound to be right. Angry

Frequently use this detailed one,

Could lead to problems if they got the forecast badly wrong.

Re: Weather and work

I've found Accuweather to be about as accurate as a politician's declared finances, predicting blazing sun while it's piddling with rain, hurricanes on nice calm days, and snow in the height of summer... Shocked
I use WeatherUnderground, they use data from a mix of home weather stations, MET office data and airport weather stations, it's been far more accurate than a lot of other weather sites I've tried... Smiley

They also have apps for smartphones too... Smiley
