Watch out for SKYTV and misleading offers

My mother in law logged into her sky account today and found this http://www.imageupload.co.uk/image/BOAo then when clicking on the cinema only deal to see how much it was, she seen this http://www.imageupload.co.uk/image/BOR4

So she spoke to sky via chat to ask for the offer, and was told you cant have the offer unless u have sky sports, but there is no mention of the sky sports in these offers. Infact it looks to me like they offer sky sports and cinema together or sky cinema on its own.

She spoke to complaint who said the terms and conditions say you must have skysports in order to get the cinema for £4.25 a month.

But if u look at the terms and conditions in the screenshot it does not say this when clicking on more info. She told me they said sorry and that they offered her sky tv and movies for 18 months for £24.50 a month which she refused and i think i would have too.

I think she be better off getting a smart tv and getting netflix myself.

Re: Watch out for SKYTV and misleading offers

NOWTV offers Sky Cinema @ £9.99 + Sky Entertainment  @ £6.99  = £16.98 per month with an offer to new customers of two months for the price of one. At the end of that period if one tries to cancel one is offered a deal to stay.

Does the annual figure for Sky include line rental?

Re: Watch out for SKYTV and misleading offers

Sky is a con anyway, you pay all that money just to watch adverts with a smattering of TV shows in between, not value for money, and yes, I've had sky in the past, and was glad to be rid of it when it went away...

Re: Watch out for SKYTV and misleading offers

What?   Misleading offers  ? ? ?   now, There`s something new......

I don`t have sky tv services.... and quite frankly, it never ceases to amaze me, when watching their adverts, for their "offers"   of sport channels... film channels... box sets,... kids cartoon channels,.. discovery.... and the odd real program... the price they charge for this "service"... makes you wonder, what kind of people can afford those prices,....  AND... still have the time in the day/night to be able to watch them...

Surely, these people must be on hundreds of pounds per day/hour ? to cover the cost...AND give them the leisure time to spend in front of their telly to watch all these channels, to make it worth their while subscribing  to Sky..  Not forgetting the time needed for eating, taking the kids to school, and back... and some social time down the pub/gym  or even doing mundane things like going shopping with the family and playing with the kids in the back garden... .

@St3

I think you should treat your mother-in-law.

Buy her a android box with Kodi installed.

Re: Watch out for SKYTV and misleading offers

If you scroll down and look at the comparisons for Fibre 76 line rental is listed at zero for all 4 providers but their maths doesn't seem to add up. BT is shown as £21.32 more than Vodafone so over 18 months that is a saving of £383.76 so where does the £403 come from?

Likewise with Sky being £13.99 more expensive equating to a saving of £251.82 over 18 months.

Re: Watch out for SKYTV and misleading offers

I watch Sky for free, but only because I'm able to piggyback onto my daughter's account. Pay money to Murdoch? I should cocoa!
