War Games

                                                            Exercise Joint Warrior

Quote
The US Navy said the UK-led training this April would be on the largest scale in the history of the exercise.
Fifteen countries are taking part in the training that starts on Saturday.
The exercise, which runs until 24 April, will feature anti-submarine warfare and mock attacks on warships by small boats.
More than 50 ships and 70 aircraft, some being based at RAF Lossiemouth in Moray and Prestwick Airport in Ayrshire, along with 13,000 personnel will be involved.

The Mountaineering Council of Scotland was this week alerting walkers and climbers to the potential disruption to GPS devices they might use in addition to a map and compass.

Re: War Games

I am sure that I was taking part in that exercise way back in the late 1960`s and I am sure we had more people, ships and aircraft then... certainly was a busy time for us.
(maybe the "recollection" of the person stating, it is the biggest in history of the exercise... is a youngster compared to me... and doesn`t know about earlier versions...  Grin

Re: War Games

'Biggest ever'  probably refers to the number of countries taking part . With our now depleted military capacity, this probably means most of our naval resources, France's rowing boat and Spain's fleet of 24 garishly pedallo's. Grin

don't forget the fishing fleets  Lips are sealed
No wonder Putin feels so powerful these days... we've financed the rebuilding of the USSRs military and shrunk our own.

Re: War Games

Russia outnumber us by four to one ratio...and that's just the ones they admit to. Not included the 'fishing vessels' with all the masts and commercial vessels that 'may' be used for 'other' purposes. Or other vessels registered in (their friends-not ours) .
Official figures are 70 ish Royal Navy, and 270 Russian.  Sad

Re: War Games

Hence why we have nukes, Mutual Assured Destruction, assuming that the governments of the world lost their minds and decided nuking we the people was a smart thing to do... Huh
