Viacom to buy Channel 5 for £450m

[quote=http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-27240335]Viacom described Channel 5 as "one of British television's biggest brands" and said the acquisition would "accelerate" its strategy in the UK.
It added that Channel 5 would complement Viacom's existing pay-TV networks.
As well as MTV, Viacom also owns Comedy Central and children's network Nickelodeon.

It can't be good news.
I expect them to pick the best from channel five then fill the gaps with dross programs from their other stations that nobody wants to pay for.

though if they push out the HD variant to other platforms aside from Sky, that'd be something.

I wonder if that means we'll get the Daily Show and The Colbert Report (assuming it somehow survives Stephen Colbert's departure) on C5 ..?
That would be good

I forget the last time I chose to watch something on C5.
I did catch some Neighbours' a few nights ago but that was because I was channel-hopping.
