'tis a big issue for glider's being parked up.
They always need to be parked up facing a certain way in respect of the wind direction and have the wing tip held down firmly onto the ground.
Otherwise they do "fly away" in strong winds.
The earlier wooden & fabric constructed ones can 'get loose' in only medium winds as they are lighter than glass flibre modern ones.
Never seen one actually get turned over onto its back by the winds but have seen one spun round on the ground by a horizontal gust.
